This is a redo of SamSneed’s scanned book, posted after several requests for an easier to read version.This is Word doc for printing flexibility. “Page Setup” with all margins at 0 and page size of 7.1″ X 5″.The originals small page size and low resolution didn’t work for OCR [each page is 2.25 X 3.2 inches]. I kept coming up with about 40% completion/page. Considering it is just one book- it was hugely labor intensive!Here is how I did it – for suggestions of improvement and assistance to anyone contemplating doing the same thing.I broke up the original pdf 4 book pages per “sheet” in 1page/sheet. Re-ordered the pages in the proper order. After trying different export types,I exported from pdf to 315 png files. PNG was much clearer than any other export.Then in word I imported each page after setting the page size to 8 X5.5. Then I resized each image to 7.07 X 5″. Total time : about 14 hours.In the end I did it anyway to help elib members requesting it, but what a bear!Needless to say- this is a elib.tech EXCLUSIVE!!!!I’d appreciate you voting for me for trusted status!
