Samuel Milham MD MPH – Dirty Electricity: Electrification and the Diseases of Civilization (Second Edition)***elib exclusive***Quote:When Thomas Edison began wiring New York City with a direct current electricity distribution system in the 1880s, he gave humankind the magic of electric light, heat, and power; in the process, though, he inadvertently opened a Pandoras Box of unimaginable illness and death.Dirty Electricity tells the story of Dr. Samuel Milham, the scientist who first alerted the world about the frightening link between occupational exposure to electromagnetic fields and human disease. Milham takes readers through his early years and education, following the twisting path that led to his discovery that most of the twentieth century diseases of civilization, including cancer, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and suicide, are caused by electromagnetic field exposure. In the second edition, he explains how electrical exposure does its damage, and how electricity is causing our current epidemics of asthma, diabetes and obesity.Dr. Milham warns that because of the recent proliferation of radio frequency radiation from cell phones and towers, terrestrial antennas, Wi-Fi and Wi-max systems, broadband internet over power lines, and personal electronic equipment, we may be facing a looming epidemic of morbidity and mortality. In Dirty Electricity, he reveals the steps we must take, personally and as a society, to coexist with this marvelous but dangerous technology.Open for everyoneNumber of pages: 128Year of publication: 2012 (Second Edition)Url: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/193890818X/ref=dbs_a_def_r…Amazon rating: 4.6 out of 5 stars (184 reviews)Amazon review wrote:Wow, Dr. Milham has solved the puzzle of why the incidence of several “diseases of civilization” increased steadily during the 20th century in the U.S. The book is part autobiography and part introduction to the relationship between electricity and disease. I appreciated him presenting how his work and understanding evolved over the course of his career. In a more sensible world, Samuel Milham would be a household name and he would get a Nobel prize for his work. Policymakers would give top priority to ensuring that our methods for generating and using electricity were as safe as they practically could be. In our current world, government and industry leaders ignore the risks related to EMF’s as much as possible and plow ahead with increasing our exposure. They show no concern for its impact to human health and how poor health is bankrupting our country. In this and many other ways, the U.S. hurtles toward self-destruction.(…)Amazon review wrote:Easy to read and interesting. This book goes into a bit of detail describing the author’s educational background. Describes a number of examples of people exposed to dirty electricity in their work environments and the correlation to higher cancer rates. Discusses occupational risks with higher cancer rates. At the very end he describes what people can do to greatly reduce the dirty electricity load. I read the book in one sitting. It was interesting.Amazon review wrote:Good read, filled with very good information. Anyone concerned about their health and wants to take positive control of your living environment should read this book. Up to date info and not filled with conspiracy related or undocumented claims. Brings to light real life issues and how we can deal with them in this new electronics age. You may not be able to control what is outside your house, but at least you can control what is inside and some of what is coming in from outside sources. Highly recommended.Book recommended by dr Jack Kruse.May you find peace, health and prosperity,Aeon
