This is a no-joke crash-course introduction to Vytas’ favorite abdominal routine. These movements are meant to touch every region of your torso and abdomen and, when done consistently, will slim and firm those hard to reach side obliques. This class is a brief 20 minutes from start to finish but you will be sweating by the end of it… if you can make it that long.DAY 2: Cardio Blast with Caley AlyssaIn this 40 minute heat building sequence you will alternate between upper body and lower body postures designed to give you a well rounded practice in a short amount of time. You will also work the core and enjoy a few sweet stretches and long holds.DAY 3: Mixed Bag Vinyasa Flow with Vytas BaskauskasSometimes you just want to flow without a special theme but at the same time not do the same old transitions that you’re used to. Here is the perfect practice for that. The body will get a well rounded asana practice and there will be a few fun surprises along the way. Tap into your breath and lets get to work!DAY 4: Digestive Aid for Travelers with Jules MitchellBeing on the road or in the air is often associated with a disrupted balance of your systems. Get your digestion back on track with this restorative sequence designed to move things along. DAY 5: Core Meltdown with Rudy MettiaA twenty minute yoga core class with Rudy. This class builds heat fast and just when you think its about end, it might just keep on going, so be prepared.DAY 6: Mandala Flow with Michelle GoldsteinA fun and creative yoga flow sequence that opens & strengthens the entire body, heart, mind & spirit.DAY 7: 20-Minute Twist with CaleyA twenty minute twisting treat.DAY 8: Bottle Rocket with Jeff BeaudoinCan you withstand the heat of the flames without getting burned? This all-out intensity class starts with a warning shot and ends with a bang! Fast paced and filled with heart-pounding power flows, arm and standing balances, twists, binds, back-bends and more. You’ll get your fill of adrenaline for the day. Just make sure you know what you’re doing before you light the wick, or stay in the stands to watch and learn.DAY 9: Yin Yoga with TravisYin Yoga targets the connective tissues, ligaments, and joints in the most hard to reach parts of the body. The purpose for holding these poses longer is to activate the distribution of Hyaluronan throughout the body. Hyaluronan is a naturally occuring chemical within our bodies and distributing it amongst the connective tissue of the body is scientifically proven to create more supple skin tissue and less inflammation. This is the perfect complement to the physically dynamic styles of yoga you might be used to practicing and will challenge you on an entirely new level through long, deep, sustained holds. The longer you hold, the deeper you heal, and the better you’re going to feel.DAY 10: Athletic WarriorA series of fast paced and explosive movements. Rudy will take you on this one hour long journey through sequences that are built to get your heart pumping. Its not an easy class, but it is accessible and you will feel great after its all over. Take your time, breath, smile and get ready to get athletic.DAY 11: Quick Cardio with Vytas BaskauskasThis short practice is NON-STOP! There are no advanced postures but it will definitely get your heart rate up and strengthen your cardiovascular system. No particular body part is focused on but instead the emphasis is on breath and movement. Make sure to have a towel handy and get ready to work.DAY 12: Open with Grace with Alyssa AblanBeing graceful is being mindful. Through this class Alyssa will guide you through the process of discovering grace. The sequencing throughout this segment is explored at a slower pace so that you may discover how to maintain focus and develop a keener sense of muscle memory.DAY 13: Mood Enhancer with Jules MitchellFeeling down? This passive sequence is designed to lift your spirits and wash away the blues by gently stimulating and tuning your chemical balance.DAY 14: Detox and De-Stress with Anna HansonStress is interpreted much in the same way that physical threat is in our bodies and if we don’t give ourselves time to unwind and get rid of some of that stress it can become toxic. This class is all about twisting to detox your body and work out both physical and mental stress. We will twist in every angle, flow, and cultivate strength. If you’ve had a long hard day, this class will stop you from worrying and get you back to feeling relaxed, released, and rejuvenated!DAY 15: Mountain Warrior with Rudy MettiaFilmed in the backlots of NuBoyana studios this sweet standing series class is part of the YOGA WARRIOR 365 box set. Its a perfect class to loosen up those kinks and get a little zen in. You might even find some grub worms.DAY 16: Energizing Flow with Ali OwensThis energizing class gently ramps up as Ali takes you throw a well placed flow. You will be guided into some inversions as well as experience some gentle twists and backbends. The focus will be strengthening the shoulders and lengthening the hamstrings, eventually working into different variations on Vaschistasana, side arm plank pose. Highly recommended if you are looking for an energizing flow.DAY 17: Intermediate Flow with Ali OwensAli gently guides through this practice, which includes twisting throughout. She will lead you into handstand while reminding you to practice patience, playfulness, and equanimity.DAY 18: I Wanna Hold Your Hand-stand with Rudy MettiaNew to handstands? Start here as we will prepare you for turning your world upside down. We will get you up… it’s up to you to get down.DAY 19: Yinlicious with Marisa WeppnerEnjoy this lovely restorative class when you want a good off day. Yinlicious is a yin centered yoga class: the slowing down of body and mind through passive, long holds that go deep to the connective tissue around the joints. It’s time to relax, let go, and hit that reset button. You’ll be thankful you did.DAY 20: Slow Mindfulness Meditation with VytasA very simple yet profound meditation practice with Vytas.DAY 21: Twisting Flow with Michelle Goldstein60 minutes of yoga-flow practice that integrates twists/spinal rotation throughout. Fantastic for detoxifying body, heart & mind.DAY 22: Short Holds Vytas BaskauskasThis practice is about moving the body in as many ways possible. Longer holds in postures allow for a lot of subtle refinement of the postures and can be quite mentally challenging. However, in this class, you will only hold each posture for a maximum of 5 deep breaths. This will allow for much more movement and a slightly faster pace. The focus is more on the transitions in and out of the poses, than the poses themselves. Sometimes you just feel like moving. This is the class for you. The vinyasa practice is about breath and movement to cultivate the mind-body connection and you are definitely going to get that here!DAY 23: Slow Meditative Flow with Elle PotterThis practice is an invitation to turn inward, slowing things down to enjoy the connection of breath and movement as a meditation. The class begins with a gentle warm-up and gently builds up to some hip openers. As a Level 1 class, beginners will find it gentle and accessible, while more advanced practitioners may find the most challenging part is slowing things down. The cherry on top is the supported Child’s Pose just before Savasana (Corpse Pose). Props needed: two blocks, one bolster. Also recommended is an eye pillow or towel to cover the eyes during Savasana (Corpse Pose).DAY 24: Tested Warrior with Rudy MettiaThe Tested Warrior is a 60 minute vinyasa flow class that is designed to help you identify and explore the “edges” of your practice. Rudy will test your physical, emotional, and mental boundaries through longer holds, longer sequencing, and more complex postures. This is a class that you should prepare yourself for. Before beginning take a moment and to focus your body and mind on the test ahead. When you reach your edge remember to explore it cautiously and mindfully, and to not push beyond your limits.DAY 25: Standing Neutrals Twists, and Core with Vytas BaskauskasThis class is primarily focused on your twists and standing neutral poses, but what you’ll come to realize very quickly is that twisting properly also requires strong abdominal muscles. Vytas will start you off with a few abdominal exercises to warm up the body and bring attention to the components of your body that we will be working on. Take is slow as you twist and keep in mind your boundaries to avoid straining the back and neck.DAY 26: As the World Turns with Rudy MettiaIn this class you will twist yourself silly while elongating, rotating, and squeezing away tension.DAY 27: Oxidizer with Jeff BeaudoinAn Oxidizing agent is anything that supports the combustion of fuel. In yoga, conscious, deep breathing is the catalyst that ignites the innate life force, which in turn stokes the internal fire and supports the combustion of physical fuel while burning away toxic wastes. Explore using your internalized focus and ujjayi breath through basic, yet potent postures and transitions to stoke the flame of your inner fire in this well-rounded, challenging 60 minute flow.DAY 28: Core Encore with Jules MitchellGreat abs often come at at price – low back and poor spinal health. This class challenges your core and uses props to awaken the core and reduce the cramping in the hip flexors in navasana (Boat Pose).DAY 29: Tadasana with Travis EliotAnother great standing series – this one from Travis Eliots’s Ultimate Yogi DVD set. This one focuses on opening up and stretching the shoulders and is ideal for the days when you feel the weight of the world upon you.DAY 30: Uddiyanda Bandha with Vytas BaskauskasAbdominal strength is very important to have. What is strength though without control? Control of the abdominal muscles leads to the ability to move the organs underneath. Here you will observe me practicing first Uddiyana Bandha (upward abdominal lock) and then later Nauli (abdominal rolling). These are two very powerful cleansing exercises and not for the average practitioner. Make sure to only practice these on a completely empty stomach and not to overdo them.
