It aims to give people the confidence to speak the language and to help them understand Irish speakers from various parts of the country. The emphasis is on listening and speaking, but learners are also given opportunities to develop their reading and writing skills.The course consists of a book, three audio CDs which are closely linked to the book, twenty television programmes, a radio series and a website. Two DVDs, containing all the programmes in the television series, have been available from March 2004.The book can be used on its own or in conjunction with the other media, the CDs in particular.The book is divided into twenty units, and each unit contains the following:Foghlaim na Gaeilge / Learning IrishHandy tips on how to become a more efficient language learner. The language contained in these dialogues is natural and authentic, and reflects everyday usage.Gmomhaiochtai I ActivitiesA wide range of fun-to-do activities, many of which are also contained on the CDs. These activities will help you understand, practise and produce the language yourself.
