WORKSHOP: This workshop begins with a brief overview of the recent scientific findings in the study of dreams, and then moves to a discussion of Jung’s view of dreams. Initial dreams will be taken as a starting point for the study, for it is there that we see the archetypal elements in some of their clearest manifestations. He works with a series of dreams of a patient.Thomas B. Kirsch, M.D. graduated from Reed College, 1957, and Yale Medical School, 1961. He completed his psychiatric residency at Stanford, and served as consultant to the National Institute of Mental Health, 1965-67. Since then he has maintained a private practice and served on the Clinical Faculty, Dept. of Psychiatry, at Stanford University. The author of numerous papers on the biology and psychology of dreams, he co-edited the Jungian section of the International Encyclopedia of Psychiatry and Psychoanalysis, 1977.
