Description

Buddhist monk Thich Nhat Han-nominated for the Nobel Peace prize by Martin Luther King in 1967-has made it his life’s mission to teach the benefits of mindfulness as both a meditative technique and an approach to life. This video is a rare opportunity to study mindfulness with the master himself. In part one, Han’s colleague from the Plum Village Zen Monastery, Brother Michael, leads a 20-minute mindfulness practice emphasizing body awareness and steady breathing. The second part features Han himself, leading a different 20-minute session of stretching and breathing. Both sets of meditative movements are meant to relax the body and mind for deeper contemplation, but they can also be used alone as a refreshing practice to prepare for a day’s activity or for a restful night’s sleep.
