This is a product of a documentary created by the amazing BBC Documentarian Adam Curtis.  I’m sure many of you have seen it, but for those who haven’t, it’s one of the only pieces of filmmaking that I can truly say has alterted the way I see everything.  Now, I know that not everyone will have the same reaction to this material that I had, but I’ve seen a lot in my day and I was totally blown away by this program.It’s 4 episodes.  The Century of the Self deals with the role of psychoanalysis, marketing, and public relations in the United States.  It shows how advertisments went from almost information pieces, to now completely devoid of information and controlled by emotion.Frankly, it’s a look into the Matrix that surrounds us all and that we all consider “normal” or “the way things are.”  Absolutely fascinating and for myself, mind-altering.p.s.  This is in the public domain, so don’t ban me.
