In essence, that is the message of this book (adding vitamins, minerals, herbs, and some drugs, both established and experimental, to my grandmother’s list). At least the authors (a pharmacist and his wife) recommend at the beginning of the book that the reader should be guided by a “qualified health professional” in taking these nutrients or drugs. Yet much of the research cited in the bibliography on the effect of these substances on mental function is either out of date (more than 10 years old) or published in periodicals of questionable medical authority. Not recommended.- Eleanor Maass, Maass Assocs., New Milford, Pa.Copyright 1989 Reed Business Information, Inc.Product DescriptionSharpen your memory and enhance your mental alertness using this clear, accessible guide to the foods and drugs that can affect and improve cognition.Product Details Paperback: 336 pages Publisher: Main Street Books (July 1, 1989) Language: English ISBN-10: 0385261381 ISBN-13: 978-0385261388Please contribute back by OCRing *and* Spellchecking/Proofreading (!) this book. I recommend ABBYY Finereader 10 for doing this work in a relatively easy way. There are other applications as well. The important thing is to spellcheck and correct any mistakes the automatic software run did – often people just run automatic conversion and upload here a pdf that has many mistakes and/or can’t be converted to other digital formats. If you start to do the process please leave a comment here so the effort won’t be duplicated by others. Thank you.
