Great sutff!Quote:Randa Mai — How to BondageThe Mystery of Japanese Rope Bondage Revealed320 Minutes of Detailed Shibari LecturesVideo No.: BYK021, BYK022, BYK023Duration: 320Format: VHS (NTSC) or DVDCategory: Japanese Rope Bondage – InstructionsReview:If you’ve ever been fascinated by the beauty, drama and intricacy of shibari and wanted to learn the ropes yourself (forgive the pun!), then I’m about to make your week. In fact, this could make your year! The charismatic Randa Mai, youngest of the master rope sensei of Japan, he of the dark glasses and the retro Miami Vice five o’clock shadow, has just released three brand-new instructional videos that take you through his brilliant system of shibari and teach you step by step how to do numerous classic kinbaku ties safely and attractively. The vids are divided into a beginner’s installment, an intermediate section and a final, professional stanza and cover such classic shibari positions as the Takate-kote, Agura, Kikkou, Ushirode-Tasuki and Gyaku-Ebi ties, as well as several attractive and dramatic suspensions (not for the beginner!).The videos are beautifully produced, well lit, attractively performed (his willing partner is a real knock out) and I was amazed by how the camera was constantly in the right position to get the most important and revealing details of all the ties. This is especially important since, naturally, the vids are in Japanese. However, never fear, this potential fatal problem for the non-Japanese speaker is completely overcome by Randa’s clarity as a teacher. He’s a natural. His step-by-step approach and the repeat viewings of his techniques make it more than easy for anyone interested to follow his beautiful, clean and straightforward shibari stylings.Only in the third, final and most complex suspension sections would translation be really helpful but even here, provided the viewer uses common sense, caution and understands the theory and importance of secure support points and generous load/lift ratios when trying to put fit and willing bodies in the air, the visuals make almost everything very clear. It’s amazing, really. The first and third videos are 90 minutes each and the intermediate lesson is a real value at 140 jam-packed minutes of running time. Not since the great Nureki Chimou’s long unavailable Rope Bondage World Series of the late 80’s has a major rope sensei committed his expertise to video for the benefit of anyone wanting to learn this most secret of erotic Japanese SM arts. Run, don’t walk to get this set. You won’t regret it.Master KQuote:Hard on the heels of Randa Mai’s superb series of 3 Shibari how-to videos/DVDs come these 2 very fine instructionals from the workshop of the brilliant Masato Marais. If you’ve ever seen a few of the beautiful Shibari images by the legendary still photographer, Norio Sugiura, you’ve seen Masato Marais’ elegant Shibari. Trained in architecture at University, he entered the SM world early in life by working w/for Sugiura and assisting the great master, Nureki Chimou. Soon he began doing the tying himself for many of Sugiura’s photo sets and over the years he’s contributed his considerable skills to numerous, quite beautiful, Shibari photo art books. Without question, like Randa Mai, he’s one of Japan’s young masters.Although only 30 minutes each in length and, therefore, limited in content, these 2 DVDs are quite marvelous and a perfect beginner’s introduction to some basic and some sophisticated Shibari techniques. The first DVD demonstrates proper safety skills in tying, including several solid rope manipulation tips, and then goes on to demonstrate two nifty, modern, Takate-kote as well as a solid Matanawa (crotch rope) tie.The second DVD picks up where the first one leaves off and demonstrates how to achieve a beautiful Kikkou front AND back karada (body harness) and also a dynamite Ushirode Gassho (front and rear), Buddhist style, Shibari arm restraint. The DVD finishes w/some helpful advice on nawa (rope) maintenance.Although in Japanese, these DVDs are easily understandable to the non-Japanese speaker due to Marais slow and careful demonstrations. Photography, sound, and lighting are excellent. These terrific how-to’s make a wonderful compliment to the Randa Mai tutorials and are highly recommended. One small note of caution. Like many nawashi who tie principally for still photos, Masato Marais uses 4.5 mm nawa. This can be dangerous for the beginner to use since this narrow gauge has a tendency to cut into the body and nerves more than the traditional (and safer) 6 mm jute. That being said, nothing Marais so masterfully demonstrates can’t be done with the standard 6 mm nawa and will come out just as beautifully.Master K5 DVDs Riped into one DVD (4 GB) size.
