(Foto: Christian Oettinger & Christian Topp)Mitten im Großstadtgetümmel von Berlin gibt es Oasen der Ruhe, zum Beispiel ein Yogazentrum für Menschen mit dem Bedürfnis nach Besinnung und Entspannung.Die Dokumentarfilm-Regisseurin Irene Graef hat dort die verschiedensten Menschen in ihrer Ausbildung zum Yogalehrer mit ihrer Kamera begleitet. Der Film veranschaulicht, wie unterschiedlich die Motive der Schüler sind, und wie schwer ihr Weg zum Ziel sein kann. Denn die Ausbildung erfordert unter anderem auch, dass die Lehrenden zu sich selbst stehen können. Their motives are as varied as they themselves: They want to teach yoga because the profession does too little performance or because they need a spiritual anchor in high performance applications, they are looking for a balance to the solitary desk job or simply want deeper into the mind and life of the various Yoga lessons aboard.The film is about the search for meaning, personal experience, transgression – and living in Berlin. Besides imparting basic knowledge of training requires students especially, that they are to themselves, that they recognize their mistakes, weaknesses and contradictions, but also their talents and opportunities in work, family and friends.
