Really, every moment is an excellent opportunity to notice how our consciousness shifts and flows from one state to another. Some of the changes are tiny and subtle – like a shift of attention from your present state to thoughts of the future. And other changes are more powerful in their effects – like the shift from waking consciousness to dreaming, arousal, trance, or exhilaration. All altered states that we explore in the context of the course will be induced legally and safely.Week One: Fun with Altered StatesOur consciousness begins to shift a little bit as we discuss the varieties of altered states and their importance to us. We’ll open up with a little background about meditation, magick, hypnosis, and NLP. Then we’ll experiment with some unique ways to bend our reality tunnels, expand our experience, salute our subjectivity and transcend our habits of thought.Week Two: Hedonic Engineering and DevelopmentTired of the way you feel about your life or parts of your life? Or would you just enjoy a full-tilt neurosomatic adjustment? Putting our knowledge of state control to immediate use, we’ll explore methods to nudge our neurology toward compelling, exciting and ecstatic experiences.Week Three: Meet the State EntityAre we the same people all the time? Each state we pass through has its own kind of intelligence, its own kind of logic, its own reality tunnel. State entities are rich sources of information about our lives and ready power sources for ritual and personal change. Contact, communicate with and enlist your own state entities for fun and prophet.Week Four: Mirror RealitiesOur own personal pantheons are formed in the mirrors of our minds. We’ll take a long, deep look into the reflection of our reality to find the godforms that excite and inspire us. We’ll then invite them into our world and entice them to be our friends.Week Five: Tingling and Sparkling, Shining Through the CracksWhat happens when our state entities meet our pantheon? Will we find a solemn procession of secret chiefs and internal gurus? Or the party we’ve always suspected was happening somewhere in the collective unconscious? This is a practical and powerful method for invoking qualities.Week Six: Stepping in to the MirrorNow that we’ve met our pantheon and gotten the party started, we’ll take a fresh approach to the traditional magical technique of adopting godforms. This is one of the most potent forms of invocation and one that can serve a wide variety of purposes, throughout our days and lives.Week Seven: State of the UnionHaving begun with the exploration and union of the parts of our individual consciousness, we can now collect these pieces into useful techniques, personal rituals of varying size and complexity, group rituals, and more.Week Eight: The Light at the End of the Reality TunnelSo now that we’ve learned to explore and influence our states of consciousness – what are the ramifications of this revolution in Hedonic Engineering? Where do we take it? What can we do with it?
