Description

I could not find a specific description. Senior instructor Tim Carron takes a variety of individuals including all the senior instructors of the system through individual “sticky hands” sessions, explains principles, points out gaps and makes suggestions. Nothing flashy here, but if you are working on this with (a) training partner(s), this is essential information. Guided Chaos combines World War Two Combatives with Tai Chi concepts and various “odds and ends”. The realization being that both in actual hand-to-hand combat encounters and in the design of Tai Chi (in so far as it may at one stage have been very functional), the key understanding is that it is a CLINCH RANGE art. Vunak’s bouncing around at kickboxing range and flicking out jabs and kicks may be fun and all, especially when he plays the drums to create a rhythm,  but s@#% happens up close. To this end Guided Chaos uses their version of “chi sau” in combination with rapid fire close range punching and striking techniques. Without these two Perkins’ system would just be his version of WW2 Combatives, nothing wrong with that, but the “combat Tai Chi element”, in my opinion, turbo charges the process. So the contact flow and combat boxing parts of the syllabus are essential! Duration: 1 hour 45 Minutes
