His life was never the same again.  Reading and music became his passion.  He also became aware that people with a handicap should have equal opportunities in learning and he championed this cause until his death.Training to become a physiotherapist in London and setting up his own physiotherapy clinic back in Perth he was a step closer to helping the poor and blind in our world.  Further studies in physiotherapy enabled him to become the first muscular-skeletal physiotherapist in the world. He became involved with The Association for the Blind of WA and The Christian Blind Mission  He was knighted in 1998 and received recognition from the Australian Government for his “valued contribution toward assisting developing countries to reduce poverty and achieve sustainable development”.   He was a well-loved motivational speaker who traveled worldwide by himself.Happily married with five children and eleven grand children, he was a wonderful husband, loving and kind father and grandfather and a devoted Christian.
