Description

Publication Date: 1971At the age of 16, suffering with tuberculosis and stomach ulcers, Mr. Ohsawa was declared “incurable” by modern Western medical specialists. Determined to cure himself, he began pouring through ancient Indian, Chinese and Japanese medical and philosophical texts, discovered the principle of balancing opposites (which he later named “macrobiotics”), cured himself completely, and spent the rest of his life travelling, writing and lecturing in an effort to reveal to others the secrets he had learned. Macrobiotics (from the Greek: “macros” meaning “great” and “bios”: “life”) is a way of thinking, living, eating and drinking that is based on the principle that All is One, and that everything is created, animated and destroyed in accord with One Law: the Law of Change (Yin and Yang), the philosophical basis of the I Ching (Book of Change)-about which Confucius, at the age of 80, said: “If I had 50 more years to live, I would devote them all to studying the I Ching.” According to Ohsawa, the goal of macrobiotics is health and happiness, which is the same as freedom-from physical disease (fatigue, pain, etc.), mental disease (fear, confusion, anger, desperation, etc.), and spiritual disease (“ignorance-arrogance: believing in the existence of any antagonism that is not at the same time complimentary, in an ego that is separate from the rest of existence”). In Cancer and the Philosophy of the Far East, Mr. Ohsawa discusses such topics as the cause, mechanism and cure of cancer; basic differences between Eastern and Western mentalities; how to immunize yourself against any disease-cancer and mental illness; “miraculous” cancer cures; The Seventh Condition of Health: Justice for Man; what is “spiritual power”?; “The Order of the Universe” and “The Unifying Principle”; and “Sexuality: the Daybreak of Life.”Product Details    Paperback: 162 pages    Publisher: Swan House Publishing Company; 1st edition (1971)    Language: English    ASIN: B0006D0CBSPlease contribute back by OCRing and Spellcheck/Proofreading this book. Please post back the final pdf and I’d also appreciate the project files as well (please PM if you do). Please note that the high quality scan images are posted here for a specific purpose – to make it easy to OCR/spellcheck the book and not spend 100 hours doing that from a crappy, lossy compressed pdfs that are sometimes posted here. so please don’t waste your time asking why this is not a pdf file. Instead please contribute a few hours of your time and OCR and proofread the posted book. Thank you.
