Description

KundaliniYogic PathsS1:Ep9 Length: 29 mins Original Webcast Time: 25 May, 2017The idea of Kundalini is common throughout many yogic traditions. Referring to a coiled serpent resting at the base of the spine, the goal of many types of yoga is to awaken Kundalini, drawing its energy up through the energetic body to the crown chakra. The word “Kunda” means “tightened” or “confined” and the word “Lini” literally means “to bloom out”. Therefore, the practice of Kundalini is one of opening towards life, opening towards totality and recognizing that you are a part of it.In this episode of Yogic Paths we will take a look at the concept of Kundalini as well as the 20th century practice of Kundalini Yoga, which was brought to the United States in the 1960’s by Yogi Bhajan. Kundalini Yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan is a synchronistic practice, one that combines teachings that were never before combined, in order to raise one’s consciousness by raising awareness. It is believed these practices were brought forth from an ancient and secretive Sikh tradition, whose lineage includes Guru Nanak and Guru Ram Das.The practice of Kundalini Yoga, often referred to as a technology, talks about the shift from the Piscean Age to the Aquarian Age. The Aquarian Age, which started October 11, 2011 according to Yogi Bhajan, is a 2,000 year period of time where we will connect to the earth, or the mother. This deepening connection will heal the injuries we have caused to the earth, making us aware that we are just an extension of the earth itself.Video Language: EnglishSource: https://www.gaia.com/video/kundalini-0?fullplayer=feature
