You need a partner to do most drills. 30% of each DVD is fluff demonstrations of speed on a hanging dummy (great to watch but no learning value). It’s easy to isolate the important learning experiences. You need training sticks and/or rubber knifes. The DVDs are definately worth the money if you have the discipline to apply.Background: I have taken a version of Escrima in my youth and wanted to get back into it. Where I live now does not offer it as a stand-alone art. I ordered these DVDs as a last ditch effort before breaking down and taking an Martial art that offered it as a subset of their advanced belts. I chose not to take the classes here after reviewing the content of the 6 DVDs. It was a great investment.
