Description

LiuHe BaFa with English subtitlesLiuhe Bafa Quan is an ancient Chinese martial art and seldom seen in the West. Beautiful to watch, the performer moves with gentle softness through the form. Liuhe Bafa is frequently compared to Tai Chi Chuan, however the feel and the quality of movement is unique and quite different from Tai Chi Chuan. Liuhe Bafa emphasises continuous flowing movement, rising and falling like waves in the ocean, with variations in rythmn and speed — much like a river, hence Liuhe Bafa Quan has also been called “Water Boxing”.This is an interactive DVD with multiple angles and access to all movements for teaching/learning purposes. This Liuhe Bafa (“Six Harmony Eight Methods”) style is becoming more popular by the minute. According to George Xu the only reason it wasn’t popular sooner was that rich people in Beijing adopted Tai Chi Chuan much more openly. There probably is some truth in this and LiuHe BaFa which has been around longer than Tai Chi Chuan, is making up for lost time. It shares many of the attributes such as soft and full body movement.
