This is one of the more sophisticated Baji forms.More discussion and much of it technical.Disc 05,06,07,08 – Baji Explanation——————————————-Wu Lian Zhi, a famous Baji practitioner gives a ton of information on this lecture, demo VCD. If you have ANY Chinese or just an intuitive grasp there is much in this series for the Baji lover. Wu basically gives a very long challk talk with illustrations not only of movements but forms. Among topics discussed are Liu Da Kai (Six Big Openings), Ba Da Zhao (Eight Big Lures), Xiao Baji and DaBaji. Mostly discussion and some of it technical but worth the effort.Disc 09 – Partner Work—————————-BaJi is a style where touch is very important. Its explosive force comes in part from a loose body then an explosive expulsion of energy. Here are a group of BaJi Partner Practices to acquaint the student with BaJi’s particular methods. The first is called Single Movements and the second is Partner practice. Strong movements and counters.Disc 10 – Application & Usage————————————-BaJi demonstrated with special emphasis on usage and applications against student wearing protective equipment. Usage is authentic emphasizing the peculiar qualities of this very powerful Kung Fu style. Counters for punches, grabs, locks and other attacks. Toward the end of the VCD the teacher designates points.Disc 11 – Raise the Willow Saber—————————————-Naji Tiliu Dao. There are many saber sets in the art of Kung Fu. This one has much of BaJi’s simplicity and directness. It could work as either a saber or a stick sets. Movements are clear and organic. Not so much a demonstration set as a saber consistent with BaJi’s characteristics. This set is named after the swaying of willow branches, TiLiu.Disc 12 – Pilgrim Staff—————————This is a good, refined stick. It does two things very well. It retains the simplicity and directness of BaJi. It also goes through a surprising amount of different stick rolls. Generally staff sets are centered around a theme roll. This set acts as introductory to many such rolls and, at the same time, has lines of practice. Key movements include upper cut, point, cleave, slide, shield and deflect.Disc 13 – Six Harmony Spear———————————–BaJi spear once again shows the nature of this famous style of boxing. This sword shows the style and maintains the flavor of this branch of BaJi. The main movements of this weapon are raise, thrust, lift and point. Baji sword tends to show more power than many other styles of jian shu.Disc 15 – Famous Master——————————-For many people in the CMA Wu Lian Zhi is a high name in the art of Baji Quan and other Cang County based martial skills. This is a kind of celebration of Wu’s contribution with many speakers, some local color and a stage performance. On the floor, the type of performance we always see in China before the “official performance” we see different players showing off Baji Partner Set, a good selection of Pigua, Baji Quan, Xing Yi five elements, three sectional stick vs. staff, a good steel whip performance and much more. A necessary addition to those interested in Baji, Pigua and related arts.Disc 16 – Living Master (Short Documentary)——————————————————-
