In this lesson you will learn 15 cool Blues licks. Each lick is presented with minimal talking, so you can get right into learning and applying these licks into your own playing!Willie Myette is a Providence, RI-based pianist and jazz educator. He graduated from Bostons Berklee College of Music in 1994 and went on to study privately with pianist Fred Hersch. His own teaching experiences during this time led him to found JazzKids, a jazz education program geared toward children. He crafted a curriculum for the program via two textbooks, First Adventures in Jazz and More Adventures in Jazz. These books feature original compositions (named after Myettes students) which serve to familiarize kids with concepts such as ear training and improvisation. In addition to his teaching activities, Myette performs regularly with the Willie Myette Trio, featuring Mark Carlsen on bass and Jack Menna on drums. Myettes accessible, modern style is well-showcased on the trios 1997 debut This Is Jazz.
