Shawn Mozen began studying the martial arts at the age of seven with the art of Judo. At twelve he was encouraged by a friend to try karate, an art he subsequently spent fifteen years studying. As a result of his Karate Sensei’s diverse martial arts background Shawn’s training was not typical of most traditional schools. Boxing, grappling and reality close-quarters fighting were regular elements in those classes and the lessons he learned there would shape his views and dedication to reality training.Shawn has authored three Kettlebell instructional DVDs and written the only Canadian workbook on the subject. He has taught everyone from law enforcement to professional athletes and continues to share his knowledge through seminars across Canada and the U.S.To improve as an instructor he participated in coaching development programs and has been recognized as a coach by the Federation Quebecoise de Boxe Olympique and under the Canadian National Coaching Certification Program. Shawn is a 3rd Dan Black Belt in Shito Ryu Itosukai Karate, a Blue Belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and is a Certified Commando Krav Maga Instructor. In addition Shawn has trained with some of the top martial artists and fitness trainers in the world.
