Scott Meredith – Xing Yi Chuan

Scott Meredith – Xing Yi Quan [DVD – ISO]
[DVD – VOB]

Description

Scott Meredith is somewhat of an acquired taste for many people. In his books and DVDs on Tai Chi and Xing Yi, he focuses completely on internal energy work, ignoring applications completely. Nontheless, he teaches correct “martial” Xing Yi basics, i.e. not a dance form.He is highly opinionated and seems to produce good results for the people who follow his guidelines, judging from the five star reviews he gets consistently on Amazon.I found that some of the exercises he teaches do generate the “energy effects” as he describes them, so I am a fan. Editorial review/ description by Meredith himself: “XING YI QUAN presents this classical Chinese martial art as pure NEI GONG or “inner work”. The core movements and principles that will enable you to generate the distinct charges of Obvious Energy and Concealed Energy are presented in detail. This film is the first to explicitly link the concrete movements of the technique drills to the internal energetic results and experiences. The five basic techniques and three of the 12 animals are covered. This minimal selection is intentional, as these moves represent all and only what you really need to begin feeling the energy in yourself. Most bad reviews of any Amazon product open with the line: NOT WHAT I EXPECTED. I am now going to try to spare you that awful letdown. This DVD does NOT present the following aspects of traditional Xingyiquan: Combatives & Self DefenseFull Set of Animal TechniquesWeaponsLinking Forms / ChoreographyAn Shen PaoBody Conditioning ExercisesGot that? This is NOT the “complete” art of Xingyiquan, nor does it present anything that will be of significant use to you for street, sport, or stage. (self-defense, UFC, dance videos). It’s just 8 techniques. This DVD covers the experience of the two energies and how they are felt through the simple physical drills of this amazing minimal, bare metal art. If you have ANY doubt whatsoever about whether this is a good buy for you, LISTEN to your doubts and DO NOT BUY IT. Please save your time and money and spare me the damage of the inevitable ensuing 1-star review. I’m sure you agree it would be stupid to proceed despite this warning, waste your time and money, then slam the product with a 1-star review whining the usual: “HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT. NOT WHAT I EXPECTED.” Thanks.”For more info, check out (49 reviews, with 72% being 5 star:https://www.amazon.com/Xing-Yi-Quan-Scott-Meredith/dp/B00KVP…
