Editorial ReviewsAbout the AuthorRaymond Chang received both his BA and MD degrees from Brown University, and subsequently completed postdoctoral training at Yale and Cornell hospitals before joining the staff of Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, where he served for ten years until 1997. He has been on the faculty of Weill Cornell School of Medicine since 1986.Dr. Chang is acknowledged as one of the pioneers of complementary and alternative medicine in the US, especially in the field of oncology. He founded the nonprofit Institute of East-West Medicine in 1997 towards integrating Eastern and Western approaches to medicine, and currently directs the world s largest database project on anti-cancer Asian herbs. Dr. Chang has lectured widely on herbal medicine, integrative oncology, and alternative medicine over the past three decades. He has served on editorial and advisory committees of various academic journals and presided over international conferences for East-West approaches to cancer, as well as non-Western medical traditions.Dr. Chang is currently in private practice in New York City.
