DescriptionSince Petrea King was told she wouldn’t live until Christmas – after being diagnosed with leukaemia in September 1983, she has lived her life to the full, confounding her doctors and giving comfort and hope to countless people in similar circumstances. Over the last 16 years she has councilled people in times of crisis, especially those diagnosed with life-threatening illnesses. Most leave her Quest For Life Centre with a restored faith in life, and many experience long periods of remission or appear to have beaten their disease completely. Almost all say they are grateful for their disease, or say it’s the best thing that ever happened to them because it brought them to Petrea King and helped them understand what it means to really live. A few years ago Petrea expanded the Quest for Life Centre to everyone looking for peace of mind and since then she has been inundated by visitors and requests for a general book that encompasses philosophies and teachings for all those seeking a calmer, more fulfilled life. Petrea King is a leading light in the field of holistic health in Australia. She has received the Advance Australia Award and the Centenary Medal for her contribution to the community, and was one of the nominees for Australian of the Year in 2004.
