This is a bit of a mixed bag, I bought six out of seven DVD “Masterclass” series put out by “Martial Masters Magazine”, sales page at:  https://em3video.com/search.php?search_query=patrick+McCarth…The only volume I left out was entitled: Vol-3 Dai Nippon Butoku Kai “Fighting Spirit Of Old Japan”, since I have no interest in that particular topic.Content-wise, two of the DVDs focus on the performance of one Kata each, i.e. Happoren and Nepai, two show him teaching a broad variety of drills, both traditional and modern, in a seminar format and two have him discussing the history of Karate, very often from a viewpoint much different from the orthodox Japanese / Okinawan one. The decades of intensive study, much of it on Okinawa, come through quite clearly. The chubby McCarthy of earlier years has morphed into a very lean, fit individual. If you are interested in the history and theory of Karate, you might want to download the whole set, if you are strictly “hands-on”, just the two Kata and two seminar DVDs.
