They want your money and couldn’t care less if they harm your body in the process. That’s why they sell diet pills and weight loss shakes. The idea is you buy their product, it helps you lose weight and then you are hooked. You think you need to buy their product every month in order to keep the weight off.It’s a lie. And it’s a lie that can devastate your health.Getting hooked on one particular diet or shake makes most people feel claustrophobic. They feel as though their life is now ruled by eating a certain way. Humans like freedom, especially when it comes to something they have to do every day like eating. So when you lose that freedom it can make you miserable.Sure, a meal replacement shake might work for a while. Let’s say you spend 90 days and have a shake for breakfast, lunch and a healthy dinner made up of meat and veg. Will you lose weight in those 90 days? Probably. But what happens after that 90 days? You might be skinny, but you’ll be miserable and broke.2.Stop buying their shakes and start eating breakfast and lunch again. You’ll quickly go back to your old habits, put on more weight than you had before (because your body is in shock after the shake diet) and end up miserable. You’ll probably start back on the shakes again – exactly what the company selling the shakes wants.The muscle building and bodybuilding industry is the same. They want people to get hooked on their supplements and think that the reason they are building muscle is becausethey are taking their supplements. That way they won’t stop. Want proof? Did you know that major health and fitness magazines are owned by supplement companies? The magazines provide workouts and say things like “Once you’ve worked out we reccomend you take XYZ supplement to really boost your recovery and muscle growth”. The magazine is like one big advertisement. Readers have no idea they are being hooked into a marketing machine that is destined to keep them reliant on supplements. I’m getting angry now. The amount of people who get stuck into these weight loss and fitness marketing machines is scary. People around the world are trying diet programs that are destined to fail and destroy their self esteem, or get them reliant on pills and potions that can send them to an early grave.Not any more.What you are about to learn is embarassingly easy. It is a simple way that ANYONE can lose weight FOREVER. This isn’t a crappy 90 day challenge or 30 day eating plan. This is a way of eating that will last a lifetime because it’s not even a diet. A diet involves cutting things out. Some cut out grains like pasta and bread. Some cut out meat. The really bad ones cut out eating altogether and focus on drinking your meals. That’s why this isn’t a diet. No cutting out of anything needed!Weight Loss Is INCREDIBLY Simple. Diet Companies Want To Make You Think It’s Hard Because It Keeps You In The Marketing Machine. Really Though It Just Comes Down To A Simple 3 Step Formula…1.Figure Out Your Basal metabolic RateYour basal metabolic rate, or BMR, is the the number of calories your body would burn if you didn’t do anything. You use energy no matter what you’re doing, even when sleeping. Your BMR is the number of calories you’d burn if you stayed in bed all day.If you’ve noticed that every year, it becomes harder to eat whatever you want and stay slim, you’ve also learnt that your BMR decreases with age. Likewise, depriving yourself of food in hopes of losing weight also decreases your BMR. Funny that. Those shake diets and trying to eat a lot less than normal actually decrease the amount of calories you burn every day automatically (although the diet industry haven’t told you that have they?).Let me give you an example…A 30 year old female who is five foot seven and weighs 130lbs (just over nine stone) would have a BMR of around 1380. In other words if this female stayed in bed all day she would automatically burn 1380 calories a day.If you are trying to lose weight and don’t know your BMR you are fighting a losing battle. Once you know your BMR you are on your way to victory. I’ll show you shortly where you can find out your own basal metabolic rate. Before that though let me show you step two…2.Your Activity LevelOnce you know your BMR it’s now time to figure in what your activity levels are. After all you’re not going to stay in bed all day. You’ll be out and about walking to work, playing with the kids or maybe even doing a little exercise.If you do little to no exercise you need to times your BMR by 1.2. In the example above the woman had a BMR of 1380 so it would be 1380 x 1.2 = 1656.If you are lightly active and do light exercise 1-3 days a week you would times your BMR by 1.375. Eg 1380 x 1.375 = 1897That’s just two of the formulas you can use. They go up depending on your acitivity level. Someone who worked out five times a week is obviously going to burn more calories than someone working out once a week.Don’t let that put you off though! Truth is you could lose weight without ever exercising if you didn’t want to. Exercise just speeds up the process and has other health benefits.The number you get in step two is the amount of calories you need to maintain your current weight. If you eat more calories than that, you put on weight. If you eat less, you lose weight. It’s that simple.As a guide, subtract 500 from this number and this will be your daily calorie intake. “Why 500 calories” you may ask? Roughly speaking, it takes a calorie deficit of 3,500 calories to lose one pound. By making your daily deficit 500 calories, this should result in one pound of fat loss per week. If you exercise you can lose an extra half a pound a week.You may think 1-2 pounds of fat loss a week is not a lot. It is. There are 14 pounds in a stone. In 2 months you will have lost a stone (if you wanted or needed to lose that much) WITHOUT having to sacrifice eating your favourite foods. Don’t be sucked into these ridicoulous ads that tell you you can lose 10lbs a week. They are bullshit and will destroy your health. Do it my way and you’ll be healthy. No one wants you to die of a heart attack because you’ve brutalised your body for a diet.3.MacronutrientsBy step three you know your basal metabolic rate and your acitivity level. You know how many calories you need to eat to lose weight. Now we come to the core of the system…I can’t go into a lot of detail here, it’s the secret sauce behind my weight loss success and quite frankly I’d be doing myself a disservice if I gave everything away for free. After all I need to put dinner on the table too! However let me give you an overview of how this works…You need to eat a diet of protein, carbs and fats. Protein (meats, nuts, fish and more) helps you build and repair muscle. Some vegetarians often look a little unhealthy. That’s a controversial thing to say but I believe it to be true. The reason is because they are not giving their muscles the nutrients they need to maintain mass. Ladies, I’m not talking big muscles here. EVERYONE, male or female, needs to maintain muscle mass to be and look healthy.We need carbs because they are our main source of energy and we need fats because they help optimise our hormone productions that keep us healthy.ALL good diets require these three food types, or macronutrients as they are called. Does a diet program that has you drink shakes or stop eating and take a weight loss pill instead have these macros? No. That’s why they are not good for you.Here’s the thing. A chocolate bar has protein, carbs and fat in it. A slice of pizza has protein, carbs and fat in it. Ice cream, alcohol, fizzy drinks…they all have macronutrients in them. As long as you get the right macronutrients you can create the body you desire.For example a woman who’s BMR and activity level means she burns 2400 calories a day would need to eat 500 calories less a day. That’s 1900 calories a day. She should try to get most of her calories from clean foods such as meat, veg, healthy carbs like potatoes or rice. But…She Could Still Eat A Chocolate Bar, Or Ice Cream Or Any Other Treat She Wants As Long As It Keeps Her On Track! How Exciting And Liberating Is That?For example let’s say she drinks water all day. Has eggs for breakfast, a ham sandwich for lunch, a snack of some berries and yoghurt in the afternoon and a large stew for dinner and her calorie intake for the day was 1600 calories so far – nothing is stopping her from having a small bowl of ice cream that would take her to 1850 calories. She’s still under her 1900 calorie target so she will still lose weight!Or instead of ice cream she could have:    A chocolate bar    A can of coke    A slice of pizza    A glass of wine    A slice of cheesecake    ANYTHING that was less than the 300 calories she had left to stay on target.When I was losing weight in order to get in shape for my photoshoot I regularly ate ice cream, drank diet coke, ate out a lot – the point is it didn’t feel like a diet because it wasn’t one. I wasn’t missing out on any of my little treats and that’s why I could stick to it. If I had to stop eating ice cream I’d have given up very early on. It’s human nature. Whenever I tell people about this way of eating they get excited. After a while though they usually hit me with a question…“But Mike, isn’t it hard counting calories in this way?”My Response.“Only if you can’t read”.Look I’m not going to lie to you (unlike most of the other weight loss sites online) counting calories does take a little time. Like, minutes a day. Quite frankly if you’re not willing to do that in order to get the body you want, improve your self confidence AND your health, then I suggest you go and buy a magic weight loss pill or potion. I’ll see you back here when you realise they don’t work. You’ll be more out of pocket and less healthy, but sometimes people need to do that before they grow up and realise weight loss is about simple biology not about some speedy solution that destroys you.1.Continue eating the way you are. If you are already overweight you WILL get fatter as you age because your BMR will decrease and you will stop naturally burning the amount of calories you are now. If you feel bad about your weight now, rest assured you will feel a lot worse in a year if you choose to eat the way you currently are.2.Try the weight loss shakes or pills that harm you, or the diets that force you to cut out your favourite foods. Both of these will result in long term failure and misery.
