Description

This has already been posted on the tracker in WAV format, but I totally agree with people who have complained that a 500+ MB wave file is not really necessary for a radio interview.Having found the MP3 version elsewhere, I am posting it here.Enjoy!  Quote:A New Dimensions interview with Dr. Karl PribramDuration: 1 hour, 40 minutesKarl Pribram was trained as a neurosurgeon and then devoted his career to elucidating the structure and function of the cerebral cortex, relating human clinical experience to his neurophysiological and neurobehavioral studies on nonhuman primates. He discovered the visual functions of the temporal lobe and the relationship of the anterior frontal cortex to the limbic system. His theoretical writings include the topics of perception, emotion, memory, and planning. In collaboration with physicist David Bohm he established the foundation for the theory that the brain operates in a manner similar to a hologram, in accordance with quantum mathematical principles and the characteristics of wave patterns. These wave forms may compose hologram-like organizations, Bohm suggested, basing this concept on his application of Fourier analysis, a mathematical method for decomposing complex waves into component sine waves. The holonomic brain model developed by Pribram and Bohm posits a lens defined world view— much like the textured prismatic effect of sunlight refracted by the churning mists of a rainbow— a view which is quite different from the more conventional “objective” approach. Pribram believes that if psychology means to understand the conditions that produce the world of appearances, it must look to the thinking of physicists like Bohm.
