Joel Paschall’s Believe :: First GlimpsePosted by Wayne Houchin at 11:40 pm April 28, 2008It was 1999 – I had just finished a week long run at The Blue Room Theater in Chico, CA when I received a phone call. The man on the other end of the line told me that he was also a magician and he wanted to meet for coffee.We met up at a coffee shop downtown and for the next hour and a half he showed me a style of magic that I had never experienced before. He did things with a pack of cards that I didn’t even know was possible. He had just finished producing a video called “Show Off” starring Brian Tudor – which was to become a groundbreaking video that helped launch the modern cardistry and flourish movement – needless to say – this man changed the way that I viewed magic and introduced me to a side of the art that I hadn’t yet discovered.His name was Joel Pashcall and over the years he has become a mentor and a friend. He is currently the resident magician at Gerry Griffin’s California Magic Dinner Theater in Martinez, CA.
