Description

Carlos Castaneda was a hugely influential explorer of personal development, fringe consciousness and non-ordinary states. He is sometimes said to be the founder of the New Age movement. Through a series of ten books, he explored the path to becoming what he called a ‘sorcerer’ or a ‘person of knowledge’. He claimed (probably falsely) to have been taught the gnostic tradition of the Yaqui Indians by an old shaman called Don Juan Matus. The Active Side of Infinity is the tenth and last book in the series. It is a retrospective of Castaneda’s life and his apprenticeship to Don Juan. Don Juan asks Castaneda to review his life, so as to gain understanding of the arc of his life and prepare himself for the final journey into death.
