Description

Excuse Me, Your Life is Waiting: The Astonishing Power of Feelings Author: Lynn GrabhornI have read my share of texts on the subject of abundance and/or manifesting our desires. So, when this book came across my desk, compliments of Hampton Roads Publishers, my initial thought was that it would be a positive read, although I also expected it to rehash many of the ideas and affirmation suggestions that have been presented before.I find it very helpful to read these types of self-help books. So what if all the ideas aren’t new? Refresher courses have their benefits. Besides, somewhere within the text I normally expect to find at least one new gem that makes reading the pages worth my trouble.Perhaps I should have had a clue that this book would be different just by the odd look of the book cover design, that “thinking head” as a emotional swimming pool we can dive into. Grabhorn surprised me with more than a new nugget or two to delight in. In fact , she scoffs at some of the ideas that preceded her and are believed by devoted affirmation chanters. Her ideas did not come to her overnight. She tells of testing out these “Laws of Attraction” theories on herself, no easy task. Do I recommend this book? – YES!Grabhorn’s Companion Playbook is now available!Grabhorn writes about how we attract whatever we focus on. If we focus on “lack” then “lack” will be our experience. For example, if we focus on our neighbors having a bigger boat than ours, then we limit the size of our next boat purchase based on what the Joneses have.Grabhorn helps outline ways for us to write new scripts regarding our attitudes about money. She instructs us to move past the words, past the thoughts, and get to our feelings. She explains how “joyful emotions bring about positive vibrations.” Doubtful thinking stops the flow of energy. Her writing style is fun to read, but better yet, Grabhorn will make you rethink and consider changing early-learned belief systems that are holding you back from leading a successful and joyful life.
