DVD includes four workouts: Intro, Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced. Each workout progresses to a more difficult level by increasing the tempo of the music, the length of the workout, the amount of repititions in each exercise, and the difficulty of the exercise. This DVD is sold separately or included when you purchase the Ballet Barre Home Workout Combo.Non-stop ballet movements performed at two tempos. The faster intervals burn fat; the same motions at a little slower pace build lean muscle (e.g. a tendu series — controlled leg extensions for two minutes, then rapid leg swings for two minutes). All four workouts feature the same format and moves. But each program progressively increases the intensity (e.g. more reps, faster moves, larger range-of-motion … even a little louder music). The standing exercises are all based on familiar ballet patterns like pliés, arabesques, legs lifts and relevés. The ending floorwork includes body-sculpting classics like crunches and side leg lifts. 1 to 3 lb. dumbbells are required.
